Kaylie Polchan, an xcel platinum, Darcy Mahony, an xcel gold, and Lillian Korndoerfer, also an xcel gold, kicked off their season by placing top three in the all-around in their age groups at the Hills Maryland Classic held in Westminster, MD January 14th-17th.
Polchan placed 2nd in the all-around with a score of 36.525 amid eight other gymnasts in her age group. It was her first meet as an xcel gymnast as well as her first meet in over two years since recovering from a significant injury. She also placed 2nd on vault with an 8.95, 3rd on bars with a 9.35, and 2nd on beam with a 9.025.
Korndoerfer placed 3rd in the all-around with a score of 35.4 amid seven other gymnasts in her age group. She also placed 2nd on floor with a 9.35.
Mahony also placed 3rd in the all-around amid ten other gymnasts with a score of 35.5. She placed 3rd on beam with a 9.05 and 2nd on floor with a 9.35.
All three gymnasts have qualified for their state meet which will be hosted by Xquisite Gymnastics in Cranberry, PA April 29th-May 1st, 2022.
