To our customers,
Thank you.
When we reopened after the first round of COVID-related closures you came back, you wore masks, you kept your distance from one another, you sanitized your hands frequently, you let us take your temperature, you watched class/practice on a tiny screen instead of in-person, you kept others safe by staying home when you weren’t feeling well, you were patient and understanding, and you put up with inconvenient schedule changes. Thank you for sticking with us through thick and thin.
This is not a political statement, but I took great exception to Governor Wolf’s claim during the press conference last evening that COVID “does well in gyms” because we managed to spend a lot of time together doing what we love for several months without a single case of COVID in our facility. We took a very cautious and measured approach and followed every single safety guideline recommended to us by government agencies and other experts. I am proud of the decisions we made along the way, and I am extremely proud of and grateful to our staff and customers for taking responsibility and making it work.
However, Governor Wolf has taken action he deemed necessary to protect public health that prohibits organizations like ours from operating effective Saturday, December 12th through Monday, January 4th.The following is an excerpt from guidance published on the Pennsylvania Department of Health’s website:
How do the Limited-Time Targeted Mitigation Orders apply to dance studios, gymnastic facilities, cheerleading gyms?
All organized athletic contests, competitions, scrimmages, and practices regardless of what they are called are suspended including dance studios, gymnastic facilities, cheerleading gyms, etc. In addition, extracurricular activities, which includes activities such as non-competitive dance and cheerleading have been suspended by the order.
How do the Limited-Time Targeted Mitigation Orders apply to dance, gymnastic or cheerleading competitions?
Dance, cheerleading, and gymnastics are all considered athletics and are suspended.
In accordance with this guidance we are suspending operations as ordered for the prescribed period of time. We will provide credit for GymStars, GymKids, Kinderdance and Developmental Program classes that we are being forced to cancel throughout the remainder of December. Your place in classes will be held until we are permitted to reopen. Feel free to log into the Customer Portal and submit a drop request if you’d prefer to forgo your place in class. You will receive credit either way. Please allow us a couple of days to complete the process of issuing credit. If you’d prefer a refund, please send a request via email to dford@cbgym.com.
We are working on plans to provide virtual options for some programs if the order is extended beyond January 4th.
Central Bucks Gymnastics and Dance is a multigenerational, family-owned, independent business that has been operating continuously since 1973. We will reopen, but, for now, we will stay home, wear our masks and keep our distance in order to keep our community safe and get past this awful chapter in our history. Please visit our website or Facebook for updates throughout the next few weeks. When the time comes to reopen, we will send you an email with details about our plan.
Thank you,
David Ford
